Gods’ Battle Strategies
13 days remain for the challenge! #battlehymnbattlecry. PASS IT ON!
Did you take my challenge and encourage others to listen to “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” as a prayer of victory asking God to move against the invisible enemy that only He can conquer. (I’ve sent out a different rendition of the Battle Hymn on Facebook and Twitter Each day. I’m hoping to make it easy for all of us to PASS IT ON!)
As I shared last week, God’s battle strategies to accomplish His will in the world are unique. He miraculously works all the evil in this world for the good outcome of His children and His glorious purposes, usually in ways we can’t even imagine. God tells us, “’For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’” declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’”
(Isaiah 55:8-9)
I am reminded of God’s words to Jehoshaphat (outnumbered by his enemy’s vast army) through a prophet moved by the Holy Spirit, “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow march down against them… You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’” (2 Chronicles 20:15-17)
And what was Jehoshaphat’s response with his people?
“Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord…After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:
‘Give thanks to the Lord,
for his love endures forever.’
As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men…who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.” (2 Chronicles 20:21-22)
How did God defeat the enemy? By His power and through the humility, worship, singing, praise, and thanks to His people.
As states are opening and people get back to work, let’s us not forget that the pandemic is still raging. While we listen to a different rendition of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” each day this week, may our praises, thanks, worship, and singing rise up to God in appreciation for His Almighty power to do what no man can do… defeat this enemy today, for His glory, honor and praise!
“The Battle Hymn-Our Battle Cry to Defeat the Invisible Enemy!”
