New Definition for Your “Testimony”

Reen and I both enjoy learning new things together. We began a new course and we’re learning so much about sharing what we believe with others. There are many books, courses, and curriculums about how to share your faith, but few make it so simple. This course explains how anyone can do it…and in 15 -30 seconds (check out Man to Man)

I found one thing extremely interesting. In this course, it uses the word “testimony” not only to refer to your faith story of coming to know Jesus Christ, but also any story in your life where God met you at your point of need. Did you face cancer and someone else just received a cancer diagnosis? Are you divorced and someone else is also struggling with this issue? Have you grappled with the betrayal of a friend and someone comes to you for advice about the same?

Share your “testimony” about how Jesus Christ met you in those difficult moments and encourage this person to know He will do the same for them. Acknowledging God’s constant Presence in your life is a way to share your “testimony” at the most appropriate moments in someone else’s life.

Take the opportunities God provides this year and let God use you to change someone’s life. If not through you, who? If not now, when?

After all, if you are a Christian, God calls you to be His ambassador of reconciliation, ”God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us,” (II Cor. 5:19-20) What a privilege!
