Time to Plug In
Wow, September is here! So many new things happening…like
- Football season
- Hunting season
- Hiking
- Music festivals
- Fall landscaping
- Campfires
- Enjoying cooler weather and breaking out heavier clothes.
But one of the best things about Fall is… new Bible studies!
Yes. You heard me right!
I know all those things I listed above are important and valuable. But nothing is more important than growing your faith deeper and becoming stronger in the Lord. As the Bible says in Matthew 6:33, “ But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” That’s a wonderfully true promise I have seen come true in my life repeatedly.
And I’d love to see you experience this too!
Fall is when small groups kick off for a new year. Fall is a time of starting the year off right with the Lord. So, I’d encourage you to plug into a new Bible study for men…or start one (I’d be happy to recommend a few that impacted me!)
And if you’re married, you and your wife could join a couples Bible study and begin “doing life” together with other couples. You will make lifelong friends…and along the way eat some great food!
Fall is also a time when many churches hold their annual retreats. These can be really fun and exciting. And, because we men don’t make friends easy, retreats are great times to connect with other guys around a common activity and start friendships. BTW, I’m speaking at a retreat in Chattanooga October 17-18. Contact me for details.
So, brothers, make this fall your best fresh start season ever. Get active. Get engaged.
You won’t regret it. I can promise you that!
