Day 11 – Angels From the Realms of Glory
Have you ever wondered what the word “glory” really means? I read John Piper’s definition years ago in his book, “Desiring God.” He defined God’s glory as, “…the radiance of his holiness, the radiance of his manifold, infinitely worthy and valuable perfections.” Now whenever I see the word “Glory” I stop and remember that it is the manifestation of all the breath-taking character qualities of God in full display…the magnificence of God.
And what is the definition of “worship”? No, it is not the performance of a group of musicians before a church service, although worship may be taking place as well. “Worship” is a matter of the heart. Worship is the feeling or expression of adoration for God and can be expressed at any moment any day.
This rendition of this carol truly causes you to stop and meditate on God in all His glory. Please stop for a moment and worship with me today!
Angels from the realms of glory,
wing your flight o’er all the earth;
ye who sang creation’s story
now proclaim Messiah’s birth:
Refrain:
Come and worship, come and worship,
worship Christ, the newborn king.
Shepherds, in the field abiding,
watching o’er your flocks by night,
God with us is now residing;
yonder shines the infant light:
Refrain:
Come and worship, come and worship,
worship Christ, the newborn king.
Sages, leave your contemplations,
brighter visions beam afar;
seek the great Desire of nations;
ye have seen his natal star:
Refrain:
Come and worship, come and worship,
worship Christ, the newborn king.
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” ( John 4:24)
God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24 Amplified)
