Day 24 – O Holy Night!
Thinking about Jesus’ love for us and His desire that we share it with others, this carol and the video captured my heart. Though not the original version of “O Holy Night!,” I believe you will truly enjoy it as you watch the video story and absorb it’s meaning.
O holy night! the stars are brightly shining –
It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining –
Till He appeared, and the soul felt its worth!
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn:
Fall on your knees before the Lord most holy!
O night divine– O night when Christ was born!
O Holy Night!
Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace,
Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother
And in His Name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord
And ever, ever praise we,
Noel, Noel. O Night, when Christ was born
O Night! When Christ was born
Fall on your knees! Oh hear the angels voices,
O Night Divine.
O Night when Christ was born.
O Night When Christ was born.
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.( I John 4:7)
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (I John 4:12)
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ ( Matthew 25:35-40)
