Are You Prepared to Face the Holidays?

Is the holiday season difficult for you? Are there individuals you don’t look forward to seeing or situations you dread facing? Have you ever wished that you could sit down and talk with someone who, as an expert counselor knowing you, your situation, and concerns, could offer you the exact advice you need to solve a problem or resolve a situation?

Excellent counselors are difficult to find and even they are handicapped in their assessments because they haven’t lived every moment of your life in your skin.

But there is a Counselor who experiences every moment of life with you, understands you better than you understand yourself, and knows exactly what your next move needs to be in every situation. He stands waiting to guide you through every detail of life. His name is Jesus.

Isaiah tells us, “For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; …And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor.” (Isaiah 9:6) It is the first description of Jesus Christ we are given in this passage and it means “He represents the sum of wisdom and knowledge.” He, alone, by His Holy Spirit, waits to come alongside you and guide you through any and every situation. He offers insight and direction for every problem.

So before you face a strained relationship, enter a tense situation, or tackle a tough problem, why not begin every day by sitting down in a quiet place and spend time talking to the perfect Counselor? Journal your concerns, fears, and hurts, read His Word for insight, and pray that He alone will reveal His truth to you. Ask Him to go before you in each situation and with every individual, paving your way to a positive conclusion. Trust His Holy Spirit to guide, direct, and even provide the very words you need to respond in each moment.

As one who believes, the greatest Counselor ever known lives within you. Spend time with Him. Listen to Him. Trust Him. Rest in His Presence throughout the holidays. Experience peace and joy as never before. He loves you and is waiting for you. Reach out now.
