Keys to Prospering in 2023

Hello once again, dear friends! If you read last week’s blog, I’m sure my “teaser” piqued your curiosity. Every week Linda and I seek to encourage, inspire, and offer hopeful and helpful tips for living the John 10:10 life, “While the thief comes to steal and destroy, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Part of living YOUR refreshed life involves prosperity, but not just in finances. God can also prosper us in health, relationships, and ministry success. However, finances are an important part of the refreshed life promised you by Jesus when you believe. In 2023, we intend to share valuable tips to help enhance every area of your life, including finances.

Recently I had breakfast with a pastor friend of mine. He made an interesting observation. He said when he looks at me, he sees a tree like the one described in Psalm 1. What did he mean? Knowing the hardships and trials I have been through, he sees a positive future,

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers” (Psalm 1:1-3)

He believes this will be a year of prosperity for us, one in which my greatest fruit will be produced. So, considering this encouraging conversation, I decided that my word for the year would be “prosper.”

One morning this week as I was praying, the word “prosper” came to mind, and I felt the Lord gave me the acronym, “7 Keys to Prosperity” for us and to share with you. So, the more I thought and prayed about these, the more excited I became to share them. I believe if we apply these biblically-based principles to our businesses or jobs we will begin to see increase:

P.  Pray for divine wisdom and open doors (Proverbs 4:7, Rev 3:7).
R.  Respond to God’s promptings (John 14:26).
O.  Open your eyes to new opportunities (Prov 18:16).
S.  Seek to serve (Prov 3:27).
P.  Provide added value (Col 3:23).
E.  Execute with excellence and encourage (I Cor. 10:31,
1Thess. 5:11).
R.  Respect others (Phil 2:4).

Linda and I have a story to accompany each of these keys so let’s discuss them over the next few weeks. I know if you join me in applying them, God will prosper us all! It won’t be as hard as you may think. Promise!

If you’d like to discuss these with me further, I’d love to make the time to chat with you on the phone. If enough people are interested I’d love to set up a virtual teaching via Zoom. Just reach out to me at (410) 708-9957 or reen.watermanm@navigators.org.
