Community
Community. Are you part of one? I don’t mean your neighborhood, or women’s club, or a bridge group. I mean a spiritual community of those who not only love Jesus but want to grow together to know Him better. Again, I don’t mean a Sunday morning church meeting. I mean a smaller group of people you can pray with, discuss concerns together, know deeply… “do life together,” as they say these days. Do you have a smaller group of believing friends you meet with regularly?
If you don’t, that is my encouragement for you as you begin 2025. Ask God to show you where to find this community of those hungry to know Jesus better…a small women’s Bible study group, couples gathering, Christian book club, or Christian women’s community group you meet with weekly for encouragement, friendship, caring, and support.
In a world plagued by loneliness, anxiety, depression, and angst, find hope. Find love. Find those who lift you up as you do the same for them. We all need community. Jesus created His Body for this express purpose. He knows we don’t do well alone. He knows we need each other.
How can you do this? Google Christian women’s groups in your area and attend the next meeting. Visit churches in your vicinity you feel you might want to attend. Start a Christian Book Club in your home. Sure, you may feel awkward at first, but as my mother used to say, “To have a friend you first need to be one.” Pray, ask God to show you the group where He already planned for you to contribute, and take the first step. You’ll be so glad you did. Your life in 2025 will be richer than you ever imagined!
