You Can Choose Today!

Is your life in chaos? Are there situations you can’t understand? Do you have problems you can’t solve? It seems we all are in that situation right now with COVID-19…something we never imagined possible.

Today Reen wants to tell you our story…how we like Mary and Martha, saw Jesus’ resurrection power and the glory of God when we simply believed.

I am very excited that God has answered one of my lifetime “Bucket List” prayers by moving me into fulltime ministry in a church in the very area near where I spent almost 40 years of my life.

Feeling the call to fulltime ministry in November, I approached my own church first, as it is exploding. But as the senior pastor explained, he has more retired pastors than he could ever use.

I then began preparing for a national pastoral search for positions for which I might qualify. I created a notebook with all the appropriate websites, user names, and passwords. In the first week of January, I began my search.

As the Lord would have it, the first church position I came upon ended up being the one He had for me. I sent in my application, and received an email the very next day requesting a phone interview. That same day I also received an email from our landlord indicating our lease would not be renewed at the end of February as the owner had decided to sell the condo. So, we knew we were moving.

Over the next 2 weeks the process accelerated resulting in a visit to candidate, an offer was extended which we accepted, and we also had the privilege of buying a house.

So as you can see in Reen’s story, God completely refreshed our life in about three weeks…a whole new life, in a whole new place, doing a whole new thing. And beginning in November when we first had no idea how He planned to do this until now, we have been living that resurrected life, choosing to believe for each and every detail, small and large, without any idea how He planned to accomplish all of it. We simply believed.

Though it is not our human nature to simply believe, ( we tend to analyze, worry and fret), God promises if we genuinely put our trust completely in Him and His Word, He will accomplish miracles we could never conceive of and the reality is…He does! That’s the privilege of a resurrected life!

But it’s a risk. It’s like stepping out on a limb and trusting it will not break. It takes faith. Faith that God richly rewards and blesses. As you anticipate the upcoming Resurrection Sunday, why not consider taking your own step of faith? Believe God for something greater than you can ever accomplish, that is consistent with His Word and will, and watch Him move heaven and earth to answer your prayers. You will stand in wonder at the greatness of your God!
