“O.K. Now What?”

So “Now what?,” you might ask.  Today we vote. I hope you voted according to your conscience (and not someone else’s point of view).  I hope you can prayerfully accept whatever the outcome might be.  It’s time to end the strife, angst, and trauma engendered by recent politics.

I read this today and it really tugged at my heart. Paul writes something to the Colossians that helps us seek to live Your Refreshed Life,

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace.”

Finally, we can all stop working to avoid political conversations with family and friends. The “Great Divide” can be eliminated and the polarization of our nation repaired. It is time to willfully choose harmony and acceptance over division and strife. We are told “love covers a multitude of sins,” and we all need that covering.

Paul continues,

“And always be thankful.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives.

Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives.

Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”

God will give you the power to live this powerful example described above. Let’s all pray for His Spirit’s filling now so we can truly let the message of Jesus fill our hearts! Know I’m praying for you in this and appreciate your prayers for me. May this be a month filled with thanksgiving!

Blessings dear friends!
