Day 7 – Silent Night
Was the night silent? Probably not. Did radiant beams flow from Jesus’ face? We have no idea. Did shepherds quake? Probably. Did angels sing? Actually the Bible tells us they proclaimed, not sang.
Was Christ the Savior born? Absolutely. Was He love’s pure light and did He bring redeeming grace? Absolutely. Was He Lord at His birth? Without question.
Take a moment today to reflect on the fact that Jesus, because of His grace, came in His redeeming love to save you once and for all from your death penalty of sin. He came so you could become a citizen of His Kingdom now and forever.
Do you know Him intimately? Are you learning more of the culture, language, habits, desires, and lifestyle of your new home, His Kingdom? It’s time to prepare to share eternity with Jesus. If you haven’t begun, don’t delay another minute. Start today!
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright
‘Round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy Infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight;
Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heav’nly hosts sing “alleluia!
Christ, the Savior, is born!
Christ, the Savior, is born!”
Silent night, holy night!
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
“So don’t worry about having enough food or drink or clothing. Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things. Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.” (Matt. 6:31-33)
“But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 8:33)
“For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our city in heaven, which is yet to come.” (Hebrews 13:14)
“You have been permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others have not. To those who are open to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But to those who are not listening, even what they have will be taken away from them. That is why I tell you those stories, because people see what I do, but they don’t really see. They hear what I say, but they don’t really hear, and they don’t understand.” (Matt. 13:11-13)
