Living with Expectation!

Getting together with friends last week, I was praying to know what I might share as we began the luncheon. I realized what was stirring my heart… the reality that God promises new things every day.

Time matters to God. He makes the sun rise and set daily. The year is separated by seasons. And life always carries fresh starts and new beginnings. There is great hope as we anticipate God’s daily supernatural intervention in our lives.

Remember the time you missed a head-on collision by only a moment? Or the time you were terribly sick and suddenly just the right doctor knew just the right diagnosis and God used that doctor to bring about your healing Or how about the job you were offered when you had no job and wondered what you would do to provide for your family?

Those are big moments. But God is working behind the scenes every day, every moment. Do you see it?

That is God’s question for our New Year!  Listen to His question as He asks it of each of us.

This is what God says,
    the God who builds a road right through the ocean,
    who carves a path through pounding waves,
The God who summons horses and chariots and armies—
    they lie down and then can’t get up;
    they’re snuffed out like so many candles:
“Forget about what’s happened;
    don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
    It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?
There it is! I’m making a road through the desert,
    rivers in the badlands.
Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’
    —the coyotes and the buzzards—
Because I provided water in the desert,
    rivers through the sunbaked earth,
Drinking water for the people I chose,
    the people I made especially for myself,
    a people custom-made to praise me. (Isaiah 43:19 The Message)

I’m praying in the new 2026 year you and I live with expectation, eyes open, looking forward to the new and exciting things God has already designed for your new year and mine!

And here is His promise to respond to your expectation:

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

Glory to God in the church!
Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus!
Glory down all the generations!
Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!  (Ephesians 3:20-21 The Message)

We love you, friend! Let’s believe it and live His promises together in 2026!
