Faith-based Resolutions: Strength for Every Day

What did you think about beginning faith-based resolutions for the New Year? Were you able to make just one LASTING change last week as a result? (If you missed them check out Faith-Based Resolutions 1-3 at Your Refreshed Life).

This week we discuss four more that strengthen every area of our lives:

  1. Choose One New Action to Take Care of Your Body-
We’re told our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. (I Corinthians 6:19) How about you? What one thing would enrich your health this year?

I’m adding a Magnesiumproduct from the non-toxic products at my Melaleuca Shopping Club to deal with joint pain and stress. As a young woman I used to be really resistant to adding vitamins and supplements to my diet. But I’ve found as I age that vitamins and nutritionals taken daily really do make a difference! Melaleuca’s Vitamin B Complex, D 3, and a multi-vitamin are an indispensable part of my daily health routine.
  1. Take Charge of Your Finances-
According to Forbes magazine money and possessions are the second most referenced topic in the Bible… money more than 800 times. God cares about our stewardship of the money He gives us, so Reen and I started our year by requesting a free consultation with a Christian accountant. We are looking for easier ways to manage our money and her answer was Intuit Quickbooks, apparently the most recommended method.
  1. Connect and Get Involved in a Church-
The Pandemic made it easier for all of us to stay home and sit on the couch instead of getting up, dressing, and going to church. But God created us for relationship and fellowship. He purposely created the church family, His Body of believers, to use our gifts, skills, and abilities in oneness together to accomplish His greater purposes.

We are challenged, “and let us consider [thoughtfully] how we may encourage one another to love and to do good deeds, not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching” ( Hebrews 10:24-25 Amp).

Paul explains to the Corinthians, “Now you [collectively] are Christ’s body, and individually [you are] members of it [each with his own special purpose and function]” ( I Cor. 12:27). What is your special purpose and function?

You want eternally meaningful relationships? Find a church where you can get involved, contribute, and make friends. You’d be surprised how they become the extended family you’ve always wanted!
