Turkey and Broccoli Pasta

Publix Aprons Recipe  •  Total Time: 25 Minutes  •  Makes 4 Servings

Ingredients

  1. 8 oz medium shell pasta
  2. 12 oz fresh broccoli florets
  3. 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  4. 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  5. ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
  6. 1 lb. ground turkey (or ground turkey breast)
  7. ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  8. ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps

  1. Cook Pasta and Broccoli
    Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Add broccoli florets to the pasta during the last 4 minutes of cooking time. Reserve ¼ cup pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté Garlic and Pepper
    Preheat a large sauté pan on medium-high for 2–3 minutes. Melt butter, then add garlic and red pepper. Cook and stir for 1 minute or until garlic is golden.
  3. Cook the Turkey
    Add ground turkey to the butter mixture. Cook 4–5 minutes, stirring to crumble the meat, until no pink remains.
  4. Combine and Finish
    Stir in the drained pasta and broccoli, kosher salt, and reserved pasta water. Cook for 1 minute or until flavors are blended. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and serve.

This recipe is from the Publix Aprons meal kit series. The crushed red pepper is optional — omit it for a milder flavor.
