“The Altitude of Gratitude”

Well, dear friends, it’s been a busy year for us, and you probably feel the same! I am thankful for Linda’s position at the Navigators and that I was so well received as the featured speaker at my first men’s retreat and at a men’s breakfast. (Check out our Your Refreshed Partners section below to learn what I’m doing!!)

It’s natural to consider thankfulness during November. So, that’s our subject for the month…and we’ll share some unique perspectives that may really bless you and those to whom you share our blogs and newsletter.

Recently, I read this poignant quote by Helen Keller that has really stuck with me, “ I cried because I had no shoes… until I met a man who had no feet.” Wow, doesn’t that say it all? A big part of living a grateful life is realizing that when we complain about what we don’t have we simply need to look around and see how well-off we really are.

Personally, when I experience an attack of the “grumbles”(like when that shiny F150 that I wish I owned passes me) that floors me like a tidal wave, to regain proper perspective I choose to focus on my sincere, heartfelt gratitude for what God has done for me and all those who believe in Jesus. That’s why we call this blog the “Altitude of Gratitude” because when we get stuck in the mire of the “grumbles” we need to lift our focus off ourselves to our loving Creator!

Two verses that really help Linda and I maintain an attitude of true thankfulness are Psalm 118:24,“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”(Psalm 118:24) and Psalm 136:1, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.”(Psalm 136:1)

Need a gratitude adjustment? Then, won’t you join us as we journey this month in the pursuit of gratitude? If you’re feeling in a tough spot and need someone to talk with or help you regain perspective, as always, Linda and I are here to help. Just reach out to us and we’ll get back to you right away.
